*What Is the Difference Between Active Membership and Associate Membership?
Active membership may be granted to applicants who have completed a formal training program in their field in the U.S. or Canada, or practice in the U.S. or Canada, and display a professional interest in the study or treatment of cleft lip, cleft palate, and craniofacial anomalies.
Associate membership may be granted to an applicant who does not qualify for Active Member status and meets any one of the following criteria: has interests consistent with the goals of the Association; has displayed an interest in the study or treatment of cleft lip, cleft palate and craniofacial anomalies; or works in the field of cleft lip, cleft palate, and craniofacial anomalies.
What Is the Difference Between Active Membership and Associate Membership?
Active Membership is for healthcare professionals who work full-time or part-time in the cleft/craniofacial field. Active membership is open to all healthcare disciplines.
Associate Membership is for individuals who do not work in the cleft/craniofacial field as a healthcare provider, but have an interest in cleft/craniofacial care and the goals of the Association. Examples of Associate Members include individuals/ family members affected by cleft/craniofacial anomalies or employees of a cleft/craniofacial-related non-profit organization. Healthcare providers are only eligible for Associate Membership if they have an interest in cleft/craniofacial care, but do not conduct any professional work in the cleft/craniofacial field now or in the near future.
International membership may be granted to an applicant who would otherwise qualify for Active Member status except his/her formal training was completed outside of the U.S. or Canada and he/she practices outside of the U.S. or Canada.
ACPA offers a membership discount for those who live in developing nations. View a list of eligible countries.* Eligible individuals can sign up for ACPA International Membership for a rate of $75. Anyone who is interested in the developing nation discount should email membership@acpa-cpf.org for the discount code.
Student membership may be granted to an applicant whose professional interests are consistent with the goals of the Association, who has displayed an interest in the study or treatment of cleft lip, cleft palate, and craniofacial anomalies, and who is a full-time student in good standing in an undergraduate, graduate, or post-graduate training program. Applicants must provide a letter from their department chair verifying their full-time student, resident, fellow, or post-doctoral status. Student letters may be sent by email, fax or mail.
Student Membership does not include a subscription to The Cleft Palate-Craniofacial Journal, though a subscription may be purchased for an additional $50.
