ACPA Family Services offers critical information for parents, caregivers and nurses to successfully care for the feeding needs of infants with cleft lip and/or cleft palate. This information may not be sufficient for infants with more complex craniofacial conditions.
The information in the Feeding Your Baby Videos and Booklet, along with information from your healthcare providers, will help guide parents as they determine how best to feed a baby. This content is not the only, or necessarily the best, feeding method or equipment appropriate for each infant’s situation.
The booklet contains the same information in the feeding videos and can be used as a read-along to the video or as a reference.
The following links provide updated manufacturer instructions for Cleft Nursers. This information, along with guidance from your cleft-craniofacial team, may be used to determine the best fit for your baby.
This information is provided for educational purposes and is not a substitute for medical advice. ACPA encourages all patients and caregivers to consult with a health care provider before proceeding to use any of information presented here.
