ACPA Provides Resources in Response to Member and Team Survey


ACPA specialists across the country, and around the world, are working hard to meet the needs of their patients while aiding in the COVID-19 pandemic. At the end of March, professionals in the community completed a survey to provide insight on how ACPA can help. In response to the survey, ACPA is working to address community needs with the following resources.

ACPA Statement During the COVID-19 Pandemic
ACPA released a statement on primary cleft lip/palate related surgeries and team care during the COVID-19 pandemic. The statement will be updated as the situation evolves. View the statement.

Education and Research
There are many ways to earn continuing education with ACPA Online Learning. Register to attend a live or on-demand session today. View upcoming webinars. Additional courses will be announced soon, hopefully including sessions that were accepted to the 2020 meeting.

Although the Annual Meeting was canceled, ACPA’s Abstract Book is available in the online edition of The Cleft Palate-Craniofacial Journal. This issue does not require a subscription to the journal. View the abstracts.

The Cleft Palate-Craniofacial Journal released two new podcasts featuring articles published in Volume 57, Issue 2 of the journal. Listen to the podcasts–no subscription required.

Many discussions are taking place on ACPA’s Online Community, including topics on telehealth, ACPA’s Statement and team care during this time. Visit the Online Community to join an ongoing discussion or start a new discussion thread.

Resources for Patients and Families
ACPA Family Services offers information about cleft and craniofacial care for patients and families, developed by experts in the field. All ACPA publications are available online. View ACPA’s publications.

Community stories are shared monthly and an be accessed on the ACPA Family Services website.

Team Approval
ACPA is working to alleviate the pressure caused by the Team Approval process and will release more information to applying and renewing teams soon.
