Announcing ACPA’s 2020 Pre-Conference Symposium

ACPA’s 77th Annual Meeting, March 31-April 4, 2020 at the Hilton Portland, will feature a one-day Pre-Conference Symposium – Patient and Family Engagement: the Key to Long-Term Success.

The symposium, held March 31, 2020, will explore the dynamic between patients, families and providers. The symposium will include discussions of operational issues, the development of clear communication strategies, patient-focused care planning and the development of extra-clinical programming to enhance and strengthen Patient- Family-Team cohesion.

Attendees of this symposium will:

  • Have an expanded understanding of the development of operational strategies that will improve the effectiveness of patient/family engagement.
  • Gain an understanding of non-clinical elements that may be incorporated in the team visit experience that strengthens the patient-team relationship.
  • Have an opportunity to participate in discussion to share with other conference attendees novel strategies developed at home institutions or in other forums.
  • Gain an understanding of the patient and family perspective with an aim to improve effectiveness of care.
