Chapel Hill, NC, July 11, 2016 – The Cleft Palate Foundation (CPF) today announced that Wendy-Jo Toyama has been appointed to the position of Executive Director. Toyama has been Executive Director of the American Cleft Palate-Craniofacial Association since September 2014.
“We are pleased to have Wendy join CPF as the Executive Director,” says Marilyn Cohen, LSLP, President of CPF. “She is joining a wonderful staff and volunteer group, and we are excited about the experience and enthusiasm she brings to the role.”
Prior to joining ACPA, Toyama served as the Senior Vice President, Membership, Tripartite Relations, and Marketing at the American Dental Association (ADA). She has more than 30 years of experience in marketing and communicated across corporate and non-profit settings together with a strong record of leadership, board development and engineering productive collaborations with diverse constituencies.
“I am excited for the opportunity to work with the CPF volunteer leaders and staff,” Toyama said. “I am proud of what we have accomplished in the almost two years I have been with ACPA, and I look forward to bringing my experience to CPF. We can’t wait to start developing some new initiatives.”
Wendy is a Certified Association Executive (CAE) who holds a Master’s in Business Administration from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Graduate Management and a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Indiana University.
