On behalf of the Executive Council, I am very pleased to announce that Wendy-Jo Toyama has been appointed to the position of Executive Director of the American Cleft Palate-Craniofacial Association (ACPA). Wendy comes to the ACPA from the American Dental Association (ADA) where she served as the Senior Vice President, Membership, Tripartite Relations and Marketing. In the role, Wendy led a large division and association-wide teams; enhancing the value of membership, fostering interagency collaboration, and promoting leadership development and diversity among members.
As a member of the Executive Leadership team, she worked closely with the ADA Board of Trustees on developing the strategic plan, organizational budget and related policy and governance issues.
Wendy joined the ADA in 2003 and brings more than 30 years of experience in marketing and communication across corporate and nonprofit settings together with a strong record of leadership, membership growth and revenue generation. Wendy is a Certified Association Executive (CAE) who holds a Masters in Business Administration from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Graduate Management and a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Indiana University.
This is an exciting time for the ACPA and Wendy will work with the Council this fall to develop a new strategic plan that incorporates the recommendations of the Revitalization Task Force Challenge Teams. Our hardworking National Office staff are finalizing plans to launch new association management software that will enable the ACPA to enhance the member experience, increase member communication and much more!
Everyone who has met Wendy is enthusiastic about the talent, expertise, professionalism, and leadership she brings to ACPA.
We are delighted to welcome Wendy to ACPA. She is an experienced, talented, and thoughtful leader with a clear commitment to the interdisciplinary mission of ACPA. ACPA is in great hands!
