The Smile Team Visits Raleigh, NC with a Gift for CPF
The Cleft Palate Foundation recently enjoyed a visit with Jordan Thorp of Gainesville, Florida and The Smile Team. When Jordan’s cousin was born with a cleft lip nine years ago, she decided to raise awareness and funds in her local community to provide care for children born internationally with clefts. Her success and passion for this cause have only grown since then, and Jordan’s efforts now are nationwide.
Jordan and the Smile Team visit cheerleading and dance competitions around the country to share their important message of cleft awareness. Jordan said, “As a cheerleader, I know just how important a smile is to a winning routine, so when I speak to cheerleaders and dancers around the country and see their enthusiasm to help—I am truly overwhelmed! The response from the cheer and dance community has been so tremendous…”

Through her efforts, Jordan has donated over $100,000 to Smile Train for international cleft care and has donated thousands more to treatment teams throughout the US.
The Smile Team’s travels recently brought them to Raleigh, North Carolina. CPF Executive Director Wendy-Jo Toyama and CPF Director of Operations Stephanie Williamson were privileged to meet Jordan and see her great work in action. Jordan and the Smile Team presented a $3,000 check for CPF scholarships and Cleftline™ Bears on stage during Lonestar Round-Up Raleigh with hundreds of attendees present.
CPF thanks Jordan, her family, and The Smile Team for their support!
