The Value of ACPA Team Approval

One of the ways ACPA displays its commitment towards team care is through the ACPA Team Approval Process. ACPA Approved Teams are listed on the ACPA Family Services website and are the teams ACPA encourages families to consider first when looking for cleft and craniofacial care. ACPA currently recognizes 175 ACPA Approved Teams, representing over 45 states in the US and five Canadian provinces.

I am excited to announce that the 2018 application period for ACPA Team Approval is now open. All ACPA Approved Teams from Region IV (Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Maryland, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Puerto Rico, Tennessee, Virginia, Washington DC, West Virginia) are up for renewal this year. I would also like to invite all unapproved cleft and craniofacial teams in the US and Canada to apply.

As the team leader of the UNC Craniofacial Center, I can personally attest to the value of being part of an ACPA Approved Team. My team is one of 37 teams in Region IV up for renewal, and I understand the importance of submitting an application to demonstrate our continued dedication to multi-disciplinary team care and to our patients. At the UNC Craniofacial Center, we are proud to share our approval status with our patients.

I invite you to attend the ACPA Team Approval Information Session webinar, May 22 at 2:00 PM Eastern for an informational session on the approval process. If you are unable to attend the webinar, a recording will be available on demand for later viewing.

The 2018 Team Approval Application is available now. The deadline to submit an application is July 2, 2018.
